"I passed my test on the first attempt today thanks to Purdy! She is the absolute best! She is incredibly patient and almost preternaturally calm and in full control in any situation. I have a tendency to get rather anxious, especially if people around me are anxious, and Purdy's calm and supportive manner was the first step for me to seriously believe that I could drive on my own. She genuinely cared that I become a good and safe driver, her instruction went above and beyond the minimum required to pass the test. As a result, I feel fantastic and confident that I can drive independently and do not pose a risk to myself or my fellow beings. She never mocked my mistakes and she always tried to see it from my point of view. She understood why I was making the mistakes I made, and disabused me of the underlying notion that was leading to the mistake as opposed to just giving me lists of do's and don'ts to remember. This made it easier to work out what to do in unfamiliar situations. She was also incredibly professional and was never once late in all the time I trained with her. I was keen to take the test today and she found the time to train me extra hours and often worked beyond her normal hours to accommodate me. "I had been driving in the last few years in countries whose driving conditions are often terrible and lacked in signage. I would swerve to avoid potholes, several local drivers would jump the red light, cars that should have been dumped at a local scrap yard were on the road etc. You get the idea – dangerous driving conditions. Consequently, I had experience in driving but none whatsoever in the art of etiquette! Here, Purdy, with patience, got me on the track of being a very careful driver – with each day, I got better and better. My instructor was not the most competent person to have, and was very poor in terms of explaining the general rules, that govern conduct on the road.
